Akufo-Addo listed among top 20 of world’s 100 most influential people in digital government

The 2018 list of the world’s 100 most influential people in digital government has placed President Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo among the first 20 names.
The 2018 list is the first of its kind to show the international spread of the field and includes individuals from every continent.
Nominations were drawn from over 100 expert contributors to make the list, including digital government experts, academics and public servants.
“While the list includes well-known leaders, whose every blog post finds a global readership, we have also attempted to highlight the unsung heroes who are quietly and tenaciously updating the machinery of government. The first selection was generated by peer and expert nominations and the final selection has been reviewed by independent experts around the world, “Apolitical Group Ltd, compilers of the list, said on their website.

President Akufo-Addo was listed among the notable persons like Park Won-soon, Mayor, Seoul; Pia Andrews, Service Integration Lead in New Zealand Department of Internal Affairs; Ravi Shankar Prasad, Minister for Electronics and IT and Minister for Law and Justice in India and Tim Berners-Lee, President of the Open Data Institute and Founder of the World Wide Web.
The list highlights the importance of digital technologies in transforming every aspect of the human life and in governments.

Ghana Ranks 1st in World Manhood Ranking

A graph revealing the average size of a man’s erect penis from all over the world has surfaced online and Africa is topping the list. Ghanaian men have the world’s largest penises, while Nigerian ranks 5th according to the latest ranking. South African men are ranked at number 10. It appears countries such as Asian countries such as India, Thailand and South Korea are not as gifted in terms of ‘eggplant’ as they are sitting at the bottom of the table. Nigeria is in the top five with Gabon, Jamaica, and Haiti. Target Map published a graph showing the differing lengths of a male’s manhood size across the World and Africa, Western Africa particular, takes the top spot. Mauritania court gives toughest sentence for slave owners

Two slave owners in Mauritania have been jailed in a country where slavery remains widespread but convictions rare, activists say. The sentences of 10 and 20 years are said to be the toughest-ever for the crime in the West African country. Slavery was outlawed in 1981 but 1% of the population are still living in bondage, human rights groups say. Black people of certain ethnic groups are often enslaved as domestic workers by lighter-skinned Mauritanians. The country has jailed more anti-slavery activists than slave owners, rights groups say. The court in the north-western town of Nouadhibou gave a 20-year prison sentence to Hamoudi Ould Saleck. His father – who died before the trial ended – received the same sentence posthumously. Both were accused of “reducing to slavery” a family, two of whom were children.
