UEW, students Goes Wild Over disqualification of SRC Presidential Aspirants

University of education,Winneba for the past two days have been in shocked state ,the entire school body have been surprised of the disqualification of  SRC presidential aspirant Paul Abrokwa. The news broke out on Monday morning, following the report that He and His running mate lied to the vetting committe of the university, according our reporter Kwame Sarfo, his disqualification was grounded on,among other reasons,the fact that he and his running mate Musah Mohammed Iklilu,are affilate of the same hall of residences,an instance that is in flagrant violation of a provision in the SRC constitution.It is stated on page 75 of the SRC constitution ,that "Nomination shall be filed in respect of the post of the executive office of the SRC;to wit,President,Secretary and Treasurer. The nomination forms for the President shall have a column for the name of the running mate he intends to a point who also qualifies to be elected as Executive Officer, provided that the Presidential candidate and the running mate are not from one and the same hall/ block.
 Mr. Abrokwa and his running mate are both said to be originally affilates of University hall, even though the duo during their encounter with the vetting committe claimed that they had formally requested a change of residential affilation of Mr. Iklilu and same had been granted .

IGP moves 91 officers, new Commanders to be named next week

Some 91 uniformed senior officers of the Ghana Police Service and many in the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) are moving to new offices in a massive shake-up ordered by the Inspector General of Police (IGP), David Asante-Apeatu. A source in the Police hinted that the transfer is strategic, and in some cases involves officers who have been at their current locations for so many years. The transfers have nothing to do with Thursday’s aagbewoo’ demonstration organized by the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
